I would like to know if anyone on a microwave RBI tower gets over 30 mbps down.
I also get 30 up and ing of about 30/40

Yes RBI tower West Coast 120Mbps on CAT4 handset band3

Is there any way to find out if the Flaxmere tower can handle the dual antenna configuration? I have been doing a lot of antenna experiments because I had the impression this could be made to work but there is not much point if the capability isn't even there.

I am sure it would be a CAT4 site not sure about CAT6 but loads of CAT6 sites are now live over NZ

So why would I only get 30 when I have such strong signal
Do I need 4G antennas

I have returned to this and have been doing more tests with different antenna configurations. I have now brought this to a conclusion, at least for the time being, and I feel I should share my results with those who have tried to help me here and anyone else who is interested.

I have not been able to get the MIMO dual configuration to work. I am not sure why. I have been told different things by different people and the research I have done has not clarified this issue.

Since I have two antennas anyway, and the Huawei is designed for that, I finally decided just to configure them in the normal way, both oriented vertically, one on top of the other with more than a metre between them. This has produced the best result by far. Previously, with a single vertical antenna, I was consistently getting around 30 mb/s down, with occasional peaks of 32 or 33 mb/s. With the two antennas in an angular configuration, the best result was around 35 mb/s, with occasional peaks to 40 mb/s. With both antennas vertical, and the upper one as high as I can get it above the other, I am now reaching test speeds of around 50 mb/s on a fairly consistent basis. These are only tests I have done within the past hour so I don't know if it will always remain this good, but it is far better than any result I have had previously. Both nPerf and Ookla give similar results.

Previously my best results for Rsrq, Rsrp and Rssi were -4, -97 and -73. At present they are moving around a lot but Rsrq is between -4 and -12, usually around -8, Rsrp is -96 or -97, Rssi started out at -73 then dropped to -69, where it seems to be steady.

I regard this as a final result. I will not be playing with this again unless there are major changes that warrant it. If I really do continue to get 50 mb/s down, I won't be complaining.

That is a great result worth the effort . How far are you from the cell site? are there any hills in the way?

What was the change in upload speed?

20-25 km from site. There is a hill, but the signal may (or may not) just barely clear it. Upload speed is consistently about half of download, 20-25 mb/s now, around 15-20 mb/s before.
