While on the Prepaid Data Plan... I too is hunting for a viable data plan for when I get back to Malaysia in April for few weeks. I spotted this on Digi's site on their GPRS/EDGE data plan. For Pay As You Go prepaid users, the data plan is free after when your total spending is over RM149 - less than NZD59 (basically they capped the charges at that, can you can continue using it). It is only 224kbps but should be fine for most browsing while I'm back there...

Celcom Malaysia has 3G broadband for RM68 unlimited at 384kbps - or HSDPA if you are in the coverage with HSDPA devices - (which is less than NZD27 a month).

Good to know such options available for me, other wise, I'd be having to take up a minimum 12 months to get ADSL installed! EEK! (which is at RM88/month - less than NZD36 - unlimited at 1Mbps)

Internet is my backyard...

johnr: Use the jasjam for data and get a cheap handset off trademe for voice! like a nokia 1100 or something

Except those are poor quality phones for reception as someone told me, and since they are not 3g they wont work in loads of places.
