cokemaster:
Detruire: I used to get 6000kbps+ to Auckland.
Now I don't, and it's all thanks to Telecom shoving more DSL customers into the exchange. Or the cables degrading.

Either way, that's not Xnet's fault.

Thats leaping to some premature conclusions....

How so?

I know something's degrading because over the last year my sync speeds have been dropping. From over 6000 to under 4800.

Because, it has little bearing how many customers are on the exchange under most cases. Its almost certainly going to be a line issue.

And yes, you are paying WorldxChange, not Telecom for the service, so what bearing does Telecom have in this except for supplying wholesale broadband to WorldxChange?

Actually don't answer that, it will drag this thread off topic even more than it has already.

You asked.

Slow speeds to your ISP usually is down to something between you and them, not them.

FYI: I was refering to ninjabear's post.
ninjabear: I use to get around 6mbps just after 10pm to auckland Now it get

2.5mbps/ 120kbps

There are a lot of factors that can affect speeds. To pick one out without conducting the various checks is like grasping at straws...

The best thing he can do is to contact his provider and have his provider walk him through the steps to see what the issue is.

tbh, I'd be very surprised if they didn't have some idea of the issue.
At lest two CSRs visit those forums (under some capacity), and employees visit these forums.

But they're not going to publicly display the issue for all potential customers to see. That's very bad for business. Frown

Not really. One of the employee has meantion about the speed problem

How would otheres feel when they join your business and your very own business states there's something wrong with this and there's something wrong with that. What woul customers feel if xnet display in big bold letters WE HAVE SPEED INTERNATIONAL ISSUES.

It would provide a negative feeling towards customers. You don't do business like that.Degrading your own company

How would customers feel if you have a known issue yet hide it until they have joined? *

I don't think that would be a very positive customer experience.

Instead of this rumour mill, it would be good to someone from xnet such as Maverick to confirm it. If its a known issue, they should also publish it on their site with a reasonable ETA to resolution too.

* I'm referring to Ninjabears post

Ninja, dont ever go into business. Firstly, people wont buy from you because you're completely illiterate. Secondly, you think the way to do business is to be dishonest with existing customers. That's not right. By the way, it's a well established principle that customer retention is FAR more efficient for business than prospecting for new customers.

lol.I won't get into business dont worry.I don't even study business.

I guess your right in a way honesty is important but they could also say that speed isn't an issue.Every isp is different but Im sure they don;t think at it that way.We can only hope they will say something about the speed later
