Vodafone will probably wait for all the uneconomical leechers to jump on 2DM & Spark before launching their deal.

At the end of the day despite all the hype such a plan is probably going to appeal to probably 0.01% of mobile users in NZ.

Which is a good news!

Given their policy of data usage virtually defeats the purpose of having a large data plan.. Id suspect the uptake would be quite low. Id rather my 15GB that i can actually use than Unlimited i can't use for tethering a laptop or tablet. Given our extortionate pricing in New Zealand how does one justify? Sure it will appeal to someone.

I am curious how Vodafone will do this plan - what about Red Share? what about the third SIM that was meant for tablet? (all in one account)

So I am cautiously waiting. I only pay $80 for 15GB. If moving unlimited means I am going to lose all that, probably not worth it. I rather if they reduce the price for additional data, let say $50 for another 10GB or something. I will be all over that!

The third sims had calling and SMS disabled so was just a data sim. They worked well!
I use Red Share for my sister and I, She pays nothing and gets half, Works out fair i suppose...
How the heck do you pay $80 for 15GB O_o

Asking nicely I would imagine..

I pay $69 for 15GB with VF...

EDIT: Still get charged $20 per extra 1GB though... bit rough IMO

Probably sums up the market response to this deal. It's just a big yawn.

I agree. It also shows that unlimited plans are viable (since not many will take up that offer anyway).

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

personally i would like to see unlimited (sure fair use, 22 gb sounds fine) but also tethering (i do this occassionally e.g. when someone is out of data and they want to use their phone to check their bank or something).  so slow down tethering data, but still allow it if you must (though fair use of slowly you down after the 22gb should cover it).

but yeah, the price is a big no no for me.  ill keep my $19 a month 1GB for now.  sure I would like more, but have built up 5GB of rollover for emergencies.

imagine people in 10 years (lets hope its just 10 years) reading this thread laughing at how much we paid for mobile internet.

This is the only thing that is stopping me from joining it.  I love the idea of not having to worry about data. I don't hotspot or tether very much at all (maybe once or twice a year) but taking the option away from me is just not cool. I want to be able to do it if I have net problems at home or need to use a laptop when out on the road.

Let it be an add-on or put a limit on the hotspot / tethering.
