willnz: Thanks Paul - so it is official!
What happens if you go outside your local zone and someone calls your local number? Can you choose for it to automatically divert to your mobile or going to voicemail?

The call made to your geographic number either goes to voicemail as it currently would, but with the added bonus of getting a TXT notification that you’ve missed a call and have a message.
You can divert calls so they ring through on your mobile. The diversions are either charged on a per call basis as per your price plan, or you can buy follow you diversion for $30 a month which diverts all landline calls to your mobile when you’re out of zone.
When calling from within your local zone, will the caller ID show as your local number, or your mobile number?
When you call a mobile from your local zone, your mobile number shows as caller ID. This allows the user to take advantage of services such as BestMate and Family.
When you call a landline from your local zone, your landline number shows as caller ID.
Can you have multiple local numbers?
Not at this stage. It might be something we look at in the future, if there's demand for it.
PaulBrislen: John Drinnan at the Herald has written two stories
richms: So is there no way of choosing the outgoing caller ID when you are at home? I am very selective of who gets my "landline" number.
Sucks about the you choose only since they wont do that without a term, and entering a term now is foolish IMO with the 2 other networks coming out soon.
$50 a month for incoming calls, plus the youchoose cost is pretty steep still, considering how cell phones work in the US where loads of them have unlimited mins included and a number thats not costing the caller. I really wish NZ had the US model of cellphone costs so that people would actually ring it instead of calling landline numbers trying to track me down because they are cheap.
Also, how can I tell if I am in my local zone or not? Obviously cellsite id is out since that stopped working with 3g,
jackyleunght2002: so this add on plan sounds really good...
just wondering then.
1. basically, you been assigned with this home number (with add on price $20), then you can physically give this home number for your friend right??? (i hope i am correct?)
2. Ok, when my friend ringing my local number, the call divert to my mobile, so do I have to pay the phone call i receives???? (any information will be help, i can't find any information on the official vodafone local zone website yet, anybody have any answer on that?)
Jacky
richms: Also what happens if I start a call at home and then leave, Will it become chargable as I pass a boundary or will it continue to be a local call.
