Yes I should be watching the road when driving not looking at new cell sites going up!

You have to admit, they look good though...

It's like driving past a good looking.....

Yes major improvement over the older sites, Slimmed down lots including the BTS / Node B hardware

I'm still a fan of a good solid looking tower personally... but i've gotta admire the beauty of a slim looking tower.

The really new ones slimline ones impress me even more, literally look like a flagpole. in terms of being Unobtrusive... they hit the ball out of the park.

Far better than the approches oversees where you have have a RRU stuck up on the wall of buildings!

Normal for vodafone sorry to tell you.

I can be on H+ standing on khyber pass and not even able to refresh twitter because there is no usable data. Toggle airplane mode and it will find 4g and start to work perfectly. Then it decides for no good reason to put me back on the disfunctional H+ connection.

I think to answer the OP, if you are using a Vodafone sourced S10 on the Vodafone NZ network, there's probably very little you can do to improve mobile reception.
Not all mobile networks have perfect coverage, some have more dead zones than others.  I guess if you wanted to check the phone didn't have a fault, try popping in one of your old Spark or 2Degrees SIMs.
If you only get 3G or H+ on those when you used to get 4G, there might be a different problem afoot.

That being said, enjoy your S10, it is a beauty and a beast of a phone :)
See if you can beat my 4G speed record from my S8 while you're at it (I was on Skinny / Spark NZ).

Not a chance round here in the Wairarapa! My S10+ on 4G manages just 59.4 down and 4.47 up.

I often see similar behaviour when travelling around NZ.

I can't really comment on Auckland, but around this area Spark's coverage is so superior to Vodafone's it's not even funny.

Where is this area?

Sorry - top of the South Island, specifically Tasman/Golden Bay/Marlborough Sounds.

Also between Nelson and Christchurch. I often have reception where someone on Vodafone doesn't.

Yup this is exactly what I experience. I will look to head back to Spark soon, never had issues with their network. In fact 2degrees was also better than Vodafone.

Has anyone also noticed Vodafone 4G coverage around Glenfield on the North Shore is particularly bad? I've heard there are a number of cell site upgrades on the shore at the moment though?

Those upgrades are actually listed on the VodafoneNZ community

Edit: Sorry not on this weeks upgrade list wondering if it was last weeks

4G coverage is not static and is changing every week for all the carriers

After sites have new 4G added it does take a week or two before the new 4G will be made live

mall foodcourt is a persistant bad spot I find. I usually sit to eat at the sushi places tables because that has working 4g, closer to maccas or katsubi does the useless H+ thing.
