Linux:

@wibble You are not correct a port request to verify the information will start the port process,

But should changes to the LSP service be done at that point?

I thought that the “Port Request Process is the first step in Porting. It achieves two main objectives – to ensure all Ports are valid, and to enable all parties to be ready for the Port Activation”, and that “the Port Activation process is used to implement a Port that has been already approved.”

I think that if VF changes my ADSL configuration on the basis of receiving a PR then that’s incorrect, although you probably know it better than me, what do you think?

Cheers

Simplest and IMHO fastest solution is just ask 2D to enable ADSL for you temporarily until the fibre is installed, as RunningMan said. It shouldn't take more than a day, and then you have the services with the company you are using going forward, so you won't be charged double when the fibre is connected.

chevrolux: Jut get 2degrees to turn the DSL back on.... no way it takes 5 days. Should be within the day, provided they use the intact.

I agree, but that's not what the care agent told me. They said they couldn't do anything, it had to be escalated and the team to which it needs to be escalated doesn't work weekends.

I will call back again on Monday and maybe I'll get a different answer then.

That is 100% a 2degrees issue then.

Oh, I didn't mean it will be done in the weekend, but if they put an order in Monday, it would be done by Tuesday at the latest. If they can't do that, they have broken processes.

Just to clarify - I’m leaving Vodafone, so it is Vodafone I’m asking to turn it back on, and it’s 100% a Vodafone problem.

What? If you are leaving VF, and why would you want them to turn the DSL back on?!

Have your new provider, 2degrees, do it!
