Yep, and the 40GB FS/FS Telecom plan is $30 cheaper than the 40GB TelstraClear plan.

You know it's bad when Telecom are cheaper...

Hey TelstraClear, double data caps and speeds (for the same price), and you might have a fighting chance. (Yeah right).

At the risk of getting reamed, remember that TNZ's DSL & DSL2 only stand something like a 1-4km radius of the exchange of matching anything even close to TCL's 10Mbps which goes to the far end of the network.
So yeah ok TNZ offer 'up to' 25Mbps if you're within spitting distance of the exchange.
But considering I live on a hill that makes TNZ DSL go like dial up, I'll stick with TCL's 10Mbps that reaches 10Mbps (sometimes :)

The speed isn't really the issue. It's more everything else, which you can't deny is far better on these Slingshot plans than TelstraClear's cable. And if you COULD get >10Mbps, well...

I think you can see the cable plans simply don't stack up, I'm afraid.

I do agree - that people have moved their thoughts - once upon a time I would never have got anything but TelstraClear Cable, now I am at the point where I might have considered alternatives like Naked DSL should it become available in WLG

For the slightly higher price I still prefer the speed & reliability of cable over dsl & since I've never needed to call for tech support, I guess I'm lucky there too.

BTW see the most recent consumer survey, Orcon was voted number 1 & TelstraClear was number 2 so they can't be all bad.

AFAIK This test was national traffic only and has no real relevance in the real world
