Speedtests over wifi mean nothing, you need to use a network cable to test it.

I didn't change anything on my setup either, and found a neighbouring property was interfering with mine.
Get yourself a network cable and connect it up to test, and you can rule it out as a potential issue that way.

Not convinced it's that as my download is really good over WiFi 5ghz (150mbps on my phone), but the upload is 1-2mbps!

Problem is my computer is too far away from the router to connect a network cable. I don't have a cable long enough!

@bazbo Like others said WiFi test results mean nothing. You need to use Ethernet to rule out WiFi being the problem.

Your router can literally shout at the Wireless device however the return path is only as good as the antennas / wireless chipset in your device hence why you may be experiencing a slow upload speed. Using an Ethernet cable for testing is the only way to do it.

Linux:

@xemblem Have you completed testing over Ethernet?

This is a simpe ' Yes ' or ' No ' answer

Me? No I have not tested over Ethernet. Was about to buy one but the speed is back up now.

bazbo: Did you get to the bottom of this? I am having the same issue. My download is fine, but just today the upload has dropped to 2-3mbps. The day before it was at 60-80mbps. Had a short outage in the day and since then this upload issue. Yesterday I was uploading Dropbox files for work in less than a minute, today the same files are taking 20-30mins!
Have hard reset the router and rebooted both boxes.
Did you get a resolution?

For me, it slowed for couple of days but it’s back to normal now.

well I dragged the pc over and reconnected via ethernet. the result?

the same. Well no , slightly different, download nearly 600mbps, but upload less then 2mbps! so wifi not the issue as I thought!

Okay then you've ruled out your wifi, so it will be something else.

You'll probably need to speak to Vodafone to go through troubleshooting and they can submit a fault if necessary.
