sbiddle:

gordo92: Bit of a update.
Decided to go sit on top of the car park where the 5G site is located and funny enough 4G LTE is faster then 5G lol 😂
I am aware that the site is 5G NSA and uses 2100MHz LTE for Uploads but bit funny when 4G is faster then 5G

5G: 171Mbps Down. 28.1Mbps Up
4G: 175Mbps Down, 31.8Mbps Up

PS. Posting this via 5G 😉

It's purely my guess (because nobody would confirm it and I don't have a rooted 5G phone to run NSG) that Vodafone were not using carrier aggregation for upload on their 5G sites in the early days so 4G speed tests would often give deliver faster upload speeds as they used CA.

Your guess is very much correct.

Papanui and Riccarton sites have some very wacky results compared to what I've seen from other posts about it on Gz.

My latest result using a Oneplus 8 which is rooted was at a whopping 600mbps and a very lowly 15mbps.

I would imagine that it will just get better over time.

Not an employee but looking over results in the past a few months ago and now I think down south does not have CA for upload. If it does I'm not seeing it because I'm not on a supported device.

Ramblings from a mysterious lady who's into tech. Warning I may often create zingers.

It seems another site has been switched on along Totara Street Down the Mount near the Sports field

Phone flicked over to 5G and managed to get the speed below
