I've got the same issue with my iPhone Xr but I'm on 2degrees and it only seems to occur when I'm on wifi calling, which is most of the time since there's no coverage here at home/work.

My limited testing has narrowed it down to anyone calling me from a 2talk line.
They can hear me but I can't hear them.

I can hang up and call them back and it's fine, only happens on incoming calls.

2talk also supports 3CX

Not sure what you’re trying to say with that statement?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

After around 24 hours I've had no further issues with incoming calls, though I have had only a couple of calls today.  Given it has 'just started working again' without me having to reboot or reset network settings, I'm confident it is sorted.

Thank you to the Vodafone team for sorting whatever weird issue was going on in the background. :)

Reconfirming the problem seems to be gone. :)

Glad to hear it seems to have been fixed for you.

I've had similar issues on Vodafone w/ same phone as you. I went through Apple support chat, tried multitude of "fixes" including removing my case, resetting network settings, turned off 5G. Unsure on order of fixes I applied, but I think resetting network settings worked for a few days, then it happened again, so switched back to 4G only and that seems to have worked for a week or so now.

I too, have this problem iPhone 12 mini on Vodafone. I can reset my network setting and that gives me a temporary fix.

For all my incoming calls today, I had to call them back on FaceTime audio.

This issue has been going on with Vodafone since last year. Some weeks will be fine, but today was terrible.

Before anyone says anything, I've gone throgh two new SIM cards and still didn't fix it.

Thanks Sam

@grayskull @stw and anyone else who is having this issue (intermittent incoming calls where neither party can hear the other, aka dead air) - there was a carrier settings update released today that should fix this.

Please go to Settings > General > About and you should be prompted to update. After the update the Service Provider field should show ‘Voda NZ 45.1’.

Note that this update is for the iPhone 12 series and only applies to iOS 14.3, 14.4, 14.4.1, and 14.4.2. We also recommend that you update to 14.4.2 if you haven’t already done so.

If anyone is still experiencing this issue after these updates then please contact us using the normal channels so it can be investigated further.
