I didn't intend on start a war on who understands what, I was asking about change management, and how this change is being managed to consumers.  I haven't had a land line in years so haven't really taken notice of the time frames around this.

 

 

 

I feel this is a major change, similar to the freeview introduction, I don't think it has been communicated to the end users as well as that change though

You are right - I let myself get side-tracked. 

 

It is a major change for those (older) people who are used to a POTS phone over copper which keeps going when the power fails.

 

All phone service providers are caught between a rock and a hard place and the P (for Public) will be considered behind the P (for Profit)
