I was advised by two separate people at TC that they would call me back with an update, but the phone has not yet rung.

Again not as major as a business outage but yet again the internet died after 10pm last night for another 30mins.

My customers were able to reconnect just before noon today.  Effectively a day and a half's lost productivity.

I advised them to claim compensation from TelstraClear.

It all depends on how well you put your case forward to Telstra.

What also bugs me is that if Telecom has an outage, even for a few hours, it's all over the media.  But here potentially thousands TelstraClear customers have been without internet for a day and a half and not a peep.

There will always be outages related to internet providers, doesn't matter who your with. For example , i hear plently of people telling me im leaving telecom cause they are crap and have outages, and an equal amount of customers from telstra saying the same thing, and go off to join another isp, the fact is, probability speaks for itself im afraid , doesn't matter who your with, its merely coincidences whether or not you go without an outage for 2 years or if you just joined a isp and have 5 outages.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

The ISP I work for is rather lucky to have three upstream providers as in the last few months we quite frequestly loose our telstraclear sessions for national and/or internationl connectivity. I really feel for any other ISP affeted that doesn't have as much redundancy.

Considering we're a fairly large customer of their you'd expect at least a good incident report... but sadly no.

In past years they have been the most reliable, but not anymore.

so does anyone actually know when they plan to fix this issue? or if they're doing anything about it at all?
