raytaylor: I have a computer in a place that needs rebooting every so often and i cant readily access it. I have a dtmf controller that connects to a phone line and when I call it, I can cut the power and restart the computer quite easily, but i have no phone line at the location of the computer.

I am thinking of getting one of those vodafone at home boxes for $199 and want to know if i can put a prepay sim card into it rather than pay the $25 each month since it wont be making outgoing calls?

buy a new computer lol it sounds old and like its !@#$ing out

Um not that simple
Its auctually more than a computer. A computer was the simplest way to explain it.

It is really 5 advanced radio repeaters and an old 486 on top of a mountain that broadcasts a weather report. Very very expensive equipment ($8,500) to replace just to solve a restart problem that takes 30 seconds every couple of weeks using a cell phone based system costing less than $500. And the new equipment will need rebooting anyway. All computers have these sorts of problems where after running for 3 months straight they need a reboot.
