Yippee, he's back! Sorry, had to do that. Don't normally do it, but this is cause for major celebration. So in order to claim this post is on topic, I also highly recommend the SPA2102 over the PAP2T. Or if you want fall-back to a normal analogue POTS phone line you can get the SPA3102 (e.g. use VFX for some calls and POTS for others).

You can do that with the HT-486 as well, and they're a *ton* cheaper ($55 from csdesign on TradeMe, guy named Phil I think? Based outta Chch). It lets calls ring in on the PSTN, but it'll only ring on the local handset, not pass it off to a VoIP Server etc. which is perfect for home-use :)

Oh dear, obviously, I've been out of the forums for too long - got a link to a thread re the "have you forgiven us" comment?

But yeah - if you (WXC) did the sending of faxes, I'd never need a fax machine again :)

Anyway.... Karl B is handling setting up the number at your (WXC) end, so I hope it should be going shortly (he says it is, but we dont get emails thru :( voice works fine tho)

Sounds good Nic, the setup for this is pretty easy.
You will need to remember that faxes get stored in your Voicemail box as well so need to clear them out every so often.

As for email to fax, something that was in discussion with the our softswitch suppliers, had a long talk with the CTO of our platform at conference in Phoniex (a few beers were involved) it was on the roadmap and was pitched at the conference that it was being looked at for a release , however we are still not sure if it will make a realease or not yet, may know more in a couple of months.

Glad it works well for you overseas, we actaully have a large amount of users who do seem to take their devices on "Road Trips"

Thanks @maverick - I need to re-read the docs to work out HOW I clear out my voicemail box :) I think there is a lot of stuff in there anyway.... will read your website. If you want testers if/when you do the fax sending thing, you know where I am. :)

Sadly, the faxing it's working (it's setup, I'm told, and it receives on the number, but we never get the emails)... but as I said, Karl is on the case (well, he was last night (my time))

Long ago I did a request that nothing gets stored in my voice mail box and everything gets sent to me as an e-mail. Never need clearing my voice mail again.

If you go here, sign up to Viewbill, you can downlaod the VFX manager, in the messaging settings there is a setting to have all mail forwarded, this option isn't available via the myvfx portal.

If you set this to forwarded, all voice and faxes will be forwarded to your email and not stored in your Voicemail Box.

ok, so i'm a little confused - I can get the utility, but I dont get any data - I tried both my viewbill and xport login (which, BTW, are totally different).... but no error message, and no data, tho when I _first_ tried it, it said my username/password was wrong (tho it wasn't), but second time, I just get no errors.....

:(

No, don't think it was a setting in VFX Manager. I think at the time there was a post from Maverick or someone saying we can request it via the help desk.

Something else you can definitely request via the help desk is that your alias e-mail addresses are proper separate e-mail accounts instead of one account with different addresses.

Yes correct at the time it was, we added it into VFX manager for the people that want to have VM forwarded without going through the help desk.
