A lot of the hard out txters have two phones anyway,

Vodafone is mostly responsible for this.

I hate Vodafone's 'walled garden' approach to texting but in saying that it's a smart business move.

My understanding is Vodafone still has the majority of TXTing customers therefore they know that by offering network to network texts they will lose heaps of customers to 2degrees and XT as they offer better plans for different types of customers.

Many people I know stay on Vodafone as they are big texters and don't want others paying 20c a pop to text them.

So I really don't think we will see network to network texts from Vodafone in the near future. We can always hope though!

I'd love 600 texts to any network on my particular plan, but sadly it doesn't seem to be possible.

What's the point?? only VF to VF, while XT $12 is unlimited to any network :D

I see that those heavy texters will switch or switching to XT............

I agree, Vodafone will keep their walled garden for as long as they can.

Meh seeing I don't send more than 600 Txt's a month i'm on the Txtr plan. In saying that pretty much all my mates are on Vodafone. It's good seeing this on Vodafone with their current handset offers. A pretty smart move really.

How do you know they are with vodafone tho? Do you check by texting 300 before sending a text to any of your friends? How often do you recheck they have not moved networks?

at 20c a text, if you send a dew dozen to someone off network it gets pretty expensive pretty quickly if it goes on for a few days.

This TXT plan might just be additional evidence that Vodafone probably won't ever bring out an "all networks" TXT plan for prepay.

Now switching is easier than ever and much more convenient, I'm certainly amazed that Vodafone still have not caved-in to all-networks txt plans on prepay.

Ideal time for 2Deg and Tnz to jump in and sell lots of handsets for Christmas.

i agree with everyone this plan sucks as# . at least they could have done 3000 txts to any network , if not unlimted , i am thinking of changing but my 5800 dosent support xt dam ,only thing holding me back .....

hmmm thinking of getting the n900 even that dosent support xt yet well the first batch , unless u get the usa ones , only the n97 mini got 850 and 900 on it yet sucks

Get a handset that supports UMTS 850/2100 - high chance that this would be quad-band GSM as well, so it would work on XT *and* Vodafone - just not in their extended 3G areas - which shouldn't be an issue if you live in a metropolitan area anyway.
