my thoughts are that there is nothing to worry about.

I dont think wireless transmissions can cause any danger to humans and it shouldn't be related to smoking.

If it does become evident that wireless transmissions cause health problems, then the world will have huge global problems.

It certainly will. Don't be so quick to discount the possible dangers of RF Emissions, ignorance is bliss.

At the very least, it's certainly food for thought.

Just to add to Grantis post - many of the health effects might not be visible in the short-term. Canser being one such possiblity.

*Off topic* If you look at your cell phone manuals, you'll find a bit of information regarding the RF emitted from your phone and its levels etc.

I think Grantis hits it on the nail. Its true wireless transmissions have been around for a while but traditionally they have been restricted to masts where Humans might nessecary be dwelling.

The situation has changed where now (actually a while ago but you get my drift) we hold portable transmitters/recievers to the side of our face and additionally have cellsites everywhere (in populated areas). I use Sman on my P910 here in Tianjin and the number of cellsites are amazing. The mini-ones are everywhere too. (getting off topic here). Remember that there are potentially longterm risks due to radiation exposure as well - ie canser. I stress that this does not nessecary imply that I'm saying cellphones are dangerous... I am just pointing out that a lot as changed in regard to radio usage.

Referring to Grantis post, while the carriers and manufactors declare that its within safe limits - should we trust them? This comes around to Smoking example that Grantis provided - The smoking companies would often stage research to disprove or at least muddy the waters a bit.

Anyway, the FDA and Howstuffworks has some information about the cellphones and states that there is "no clear connection" - but I don't think they expect you to be living around a cellsite as I think you had said something about having a cellsite on your roof.

Other articles question the safe-factor of phones. But who knows...

Anyway food for thought

That's true, but Mobile phones are held directly against the head whislt talking (most often anyway). Mobile phone RF Emissions can penetrate 5cm into the brain, therefore "possibly" increasing the risk of Malignant Brain Tumours.
