raftcomm: By the way, i would suggest that you re-check on the 3GB promotion on the Smart plans. You might find that despite the error on the website showing that its end dated, its actually still on-going.

The Smart plans is definitely the plan to go on if you need a data type plan.

thanks for pointing that out, I see they have changed the date and extended it another 3 months..
Now what I am wondering is.. does that mean if I join I get it just for 3 months? eg new users to the plan get it for 3 months.. or each time they extend it is that 3 gigs given to everyone on the plan?

the early disconnection fees on that plan are pretty massive and 2 years seems like a long time.....
but if i knew i was going to get 3 gigs for those 2 years id sign up instantly...

Yeah if you sign up, it does mean that you get it only for that 3 months before you revert back to the original entitlement. You won't get it for the length of your contract.

The plan has such high disconnection fees due to the high handset subsidy its got when you get it with a phone. Its aimed at smartphone type users so those phones don't typically come cheap.

I still think its a good plan though. It tends to match up equally with the iPhone plans so I'm sure they will be adding more value to it in the future.

Ahhh that is a shame.  Yeah I would prefer small disconnection fees and no phone subsidy. They should allow you to choose that option.
I might wait a bit , doesn't seem that attractive anymore to me. :)
3 months is just to get you used to using 3 gigs and then once you are used to it they drop you down to 250.. big drop....

actually reading the terms...

"

  1. Offer is available to all new and existing Vodafone customers who sign up to, or who are already subscribed to, an iPhone or Smart plan during the Promotional Period ("Eligible Customers")."

THat makes it sound like anyone who is already on the plan will get another 3 months too of 3 gigs.

So maybe it is a good plan again :)

Yeah if they extend it again at the end of 3 months, you will get it too if you are already on it.
