mrtoken: it reminds me when the power companies came out with the "smart meters" that used the cellphone network to ring home to update the company, people got smart and removed the sim from the meter and used it to ring people and use data in 3g cards. it was rather funny when the installer told me that story
Sorry don't necessarily believe it - certainly not if it was a deployment from any of the major integraters.
SIM cards used in embedded devices for telemetry are typically tied to a specific private APN so it's impossible to use other services on the SIM.
