Folks, looks like my email is now back (Wellington 12:44pm).

Embarrassing to say the least for TCL, eh?

Well I just logged into web mail but there are missing messages so I am wondering would the email servers have been rejecting messages sent to them (meaning that the remote mail servers will retry and we should get those emails) OR were they accepting the messages and then not having anywhere to store them dumping them?

TC's NOC appears to have just annoucned via twitter that this was an outage, not an intrusion.

@Ledgy69 No. That much I can confirm ^NOC
@TelstraClearNZ Hmmm hackers ay?

Just checked, and Paradise webmail is showing my mail from yesterday now, but nothing from today yet.

I understand that they're working through a restore, and expect that they still have the front door shut until that's been completed. The good news is that I HAVE mail from yesterday that I thought might have gone missing.

I think google email/google apps is the best option these days for email, rather than ISPs trying to provide their own email service.

Can get into Webmail now but 3 test emails I have sent to Paradise from Gmail throughout today aren't showing up.

The emails haven't bounced either, so they are somewhere in the the tubes. Maybe they are clogged :-P Where's a plumber when you need one!

I spoke to soon ... a couple of emails from early this morning turned up this afternoon, but like nzfatmatt nothing further has come in (including expected and test emails).

It's a nice day, maybe have a beer and sit it the sun until tomorrow!

Ah, I see from their Facebook page that there is an issue with webmail... still...

There looks to be a webmail login issue, returning users to the login screen when entering correct details

Latest from TCL wb site as at 5:30pm -

** Up-date **

Current status = Work has continued on restoring TelstraClear's email services to our Clear and Paradise email account holders this afternoon.
We can report that all our servers are now operational and normal services have been restored. Any backlog of emails is expected to be cleared shortly.

Wonder if it will make the TVNZ news leading stories, like the Orcon one did. Although that may have been a slow news day. Kiwi fruit will probably be todays top story.

Ha ha ha .... nothing on TV One news at 6pm, and yes the Kiwi virus seems to be it.

In the last 30 minutes I've had a slew of emails come in so looks like my store has caught up.
