sbiddle: I agree.
The lack of any off-net SMS addons on Vodafone IMHO is the single biggest factor driving customers from there network to 2degrees.
NonprayingMantis:tardtasticx:johnr:tardtasticx: Wow, they outdone themselves. They made the best deal better. 2500 any network texts for $12 is great, they doubled it. 5000 any network texts for $12 still. You cant even get 5000 on net. vodafone texts for that price. WTF
Right now its paying for phones for 2 degrees customers
Theres no way you would be making a loss from 2Degrees unless you don't change them a cent for anything.
JohnRis referring to the textmerace here.
telecom customer buys 5000 txts for $12 frm telecom and sends them all to a 2D number. Telecom have to pay 2D 5000 x 9c = approx $450. net loss to telecom is $12-$450= $438
why would voda launch an offnet plan and open themselves up to this abuse of MTR?
Maybe when bill and keep comes in they might, because the textmerace will be stopped then

Yeh but what % of their customer base does that? I don't know anyone who participated in the textmerace.
richms: I know about 4 people that have to carry a second phone on vodafone prepay just for their cheap-ass friends to text to because they will not text off net from vodafone.
Its why so many people want dual sim junk - not best mate or whatever, just crappy old SMS.
VFs refusal to sell any off net text to prepay or decent ones to those on a plan is the sole reason they are still carrying so many connections, since their pricing for everything else is so bad on prepay.

IlDuce:farcus: usually the only thing that would result in you being declined would be an adverse credit report from someone like Veda.
Most likely this woudl be the reason you were declined.
I have a perfect credit history, NEVER had a single late payment or anything of the type. Right now I have 3 small debts, an very small overdraft with the bank (Had an overdraft since 1998), small amount of income tax due in April 2011 (note I said due, NOT overdue), and 1 year interest free deferred payment for LCD TV and some other stuff from 2 months ago, and all 3 of the above will be paid off no later than end of this tax year.
Fabian:A bank overdraft for 13 years, i think that might knock you back a fair bit. ?They will be wondering why you can't pay it back and keep it that way. ?Just my thoughts.?
