gehenna:kiwipearls:
I typed www.youtube.com into FF.
Two points to conjecture over:
1/ You typoed the URL.
2/ Your browser has been hijacked by Malware to redirect Youtube.com.
Either way - nothing to do with YouTube, everything to do with your browsing habits and security methods.

kiwipearls: Well it is odd that it went to a wrong URL - as all my url are autocompleted in FF and I go there almost daily.? So I do not know how the mistyped one slipped in there.? Am removing the typo one now so it does not happen again,
I guess yeah, my fault for not watching the URL properly.? I will have to wait till I get paid next month to top up and then send a text to stop it.? In the meantime I have no credit, so they are not making anymore money from them.
Guess I am just having a bad morning eh.? And it can happen to the best of us.
Hopefully Youtube can get that domain shut down?? Now that they are aware of it.

freitasm: Lesson learned for you.
For Vodafone, it should be clear that these Premium SMS people prey on people to make money of them.
They have done this with Facebook Apps, TV adverts, and obviously they let people use their affiliate links to create fake websites promising things they would never deliver.
Vodafone (and other mobile operators in New Zealand) should shutdown all these Premium SMS services.

This where I can check if the OP replied to a opt in SMS with T&Cs but I need somewhere to start
There mobile number, time & date

I understand the "legal" side if the user replied to the SMS. But it's obvious a lot of users have no idea what is going on, and after seeing a website that is obviously crafted to let them believe it's a YouTube promotion, we can only assume it's not done in good will.
?
johnr: @kiwipearls what was the content of the first SMS you got?
(I can't see it right now as I am still in bed and not in the office and work laptop screen I smashed so still waiting for this to be replaced)
