I could tell you but I don't know either. When I read the newsletter on the desk @ the vodafone retailer yesterday I could only read the part that mentioned about the changes & upselling customers to plans. The new addons were blocked by another piece of paper! :-)

I'm pretty sure the new add-ons weren’t detailed in the VNews, the came as a separate book.

Any opinions on the 12 month term option? While I'd ultimately like a open term deal, its a lot easier to stomach than a 24 month contract.

Personally I might consider going for 'you choose' as the current plan I'm on - motormouth while it offers a healthy set of minutes, I don't use them all and I can't utilize the minutes for landline calls or the text messages for telecom texts. Though am looking to stick around $40-50 a month.

A year is still a long time in the world of telecommunications. I was willing to accept a one year contract on my Woosh connection because their service was much more suitable for me than anything else in the market, but Vodafone's Motormouth plan is not compelling enough to me personally to justify being tied into a contract for any length of time.

I'd consider a 12 month plan but certainly no more. I suspect within 12 months we will be paying considerably less for calls than now, particularly once portability happens. Vodafone & Telecom thretening to put prices up if termination rates are cut is just FUD.

You can always buy out of your you choose contract.

For example, i got $200 off my new mobile phone, and if i want to cancel my you choose contract, i pay a $200 disconnection fee.... so i dont really care if i have to pay it cause it just meant i paid the full price for my phone.... in other words, i see it as a no term contract!

But if you already have a phone and decide to go on You Choose you currently have to sign up for a 24 month contract which wil cost you money to get out of even though you haven't received a subsidy of any sort. That's just plain crazy.

The Vodafone Group is curently trying to get people onto contracts again after deciding a few years ago that it was better to give people flexability. Most other networks however are making the same pricing available to all customers without a term contract and bonueses if you sign up for a contract. In the UK for example if you sign up for a contract you get "Stop The Clock" (pay for 3 minutes speak for an hour) thrown in as a bonus.

Fair point.... i think some people know my opinion on Vodafones talk for 2 hours and pay for three mins promo only being available to PREPAY customers.... it really pisses me off, i liked Vodafone up until they changed that offer!
