I've signed up under the 12 month term on the choose 60.

Didn't buy a 3g handset though as my P910 is holding out.

NeoTech: Telecoms current time and a half promotion is the same. Not available to existing account holders and wouldn't even give me the deal if I signed another two year contract on an existing account. New Accounts only they said. That's okay. Vodafone might want my money instead.

Existing Telecom customers can sign up to the time and a half promo, but they must be within the last month of their contract or open term to upgrade and take advantage.

Also worth noting the per minute rate after the included minutes on Telecom is cheaper.

Cheers

Not what the guy in Retentions told me when he phoned earlier this week. Maybe he simply didn't want me to stay with Telecom.

NeoTech I suggest you talk to your local dealer, or call *123 from your mobile. Hopefully you will get the answer you are after this time.

Remember ‘Time and Half’ is on 24 month plans only.

Cheers

Cheers nzbnw, but I'll take this oportunity to crunch all the numbers. If I'm signing another 2 year contract I want the best bang for buck. Many many moons ago I spent a number of years working for the Post Office/Telecom and have stuck with them ever since. I just think it's time to review my options.

Thanks for your info though.

Hmm, I still don't see a really good deal to attract users switching to account...

Let's compare usage based on You Choose Plan, and Prepay:

60 daytime mins
You Choose Plan:  $40
Prepay:  $30 (since prepay can call landlines as well)

200 night mins (assuming 13 calls of 15mins each)
You choose plan:  $12
Prepay:  $19.5 (talk for 2hrs pay 3 min promotion included)

I guess if you're a really heavy txt user, or if you call Telecom mobiles quite regularly, then "You choose" plans are the thing for you!

If you're like me who call quite a lot, not that much of a txt user and do not want to change your number just yet, I don't think the plans are attractive enough yet....

*Note*...  IF ONLY they have as one of their base plans "Every 100 daytime vodafone mins = $30", I would change over immediately!

I do like the changes, A little too late for me to change over now even though I would have considered it earlier.

A good range of plans and stuff which will suit a lot of people.
TXT plans are finally a credible alternative to Telecom's upto 500 TXT for $10

The bad...
Videocall™ minute plans need some higher usage options, like 100 videocall mins etc.
Everything is priced as $XX.95, $20, $10, $6 etc just make it so much more straightforward!

The very bad aka "whoops, guys we screwed this up"
Yourtime 300™ minutes works out to almost double the price of yourtime 200™? and costs less than yourtime 100™? WTF?

It's a good opportunity to get it and score yourself a good deal however. These are being sold as 021/029 minutes and there is *nowhere* in the T&C's (that I can find) that refer to these minutes as being only to Vodafone or TCL connected phones. Sign up now for 36 months and you'll get a good deal when portability arrives next year.

Not true.

You only sign up for 12/24/36 months on the base plan only.

All addons arnt subject to the term contract and can be removed/altered by the customer and/or Vodafone at anytime.

omigod! that is fu*( awesome!

Txt 600 ?? wow! ABOUT [minor expletive] TIME!

I have no reason to stay on telecom now, im seriously going to be switching to a voda now!

and to think i actually emailed customer services about any new changes, specificially "Texting" and they told me they won't be offering anything similar to $10 text! [minor expletive] [minor expletive]!

That's got to be the best news I've heard in ages.... awesome job vodafone!

[Moderator edit (TH): Just a little overboard with the expletives, and abbreviations of. One instance probably would be overlooked depending on the circumstance. Have a nice day.]

Just checked my online call details form Vodafone website and I havn't been charged for an international text sent to the UK....

Im on the You Choose plan with the 100 national txt (moving to 600 soon). I thought it was only for NATIONAL texts? Not complaining though.

Hmmm, there could be a "bug" in the system with TXT100 when you send international, should be resolved soon Smile

Mmm correct me if I am wrong, but with the You-Choose add on’s don’t u need to pay the 'fee' for the 600TXT, use it or not? I know Telecom charge for the 1st 50 Txt’s @ 20cents, the next 450 are 'free'. $10TXT is also on all consumer based plans and prepaid, where as Vodafone's TXT600 is only one You-Choose Plans.

Cheers
