I think the prepaid data options really need changing $30 for 512MB looks ridiculous compared with 2Degrees $20 for 1GB, which I think is the sweetspot.
Vodafone should seriously introduce a mid-range, the jump from $10 to $30 is huge, and the increase in data does not reflect this at only 512MB. 512/1GB at $20 I think is the new competitive that we should be seeing.

Not like for like comparison. 2degrees 1GB for $20 is only valid in certain metro areas. Outside those areas it is $10/100MB.
Vodafone’s (and Telecom’s) datapacks are all nationwide – i.e. same price wherever you are in the country.
But that's not really the point. The point is that 2degrees is able to offer them at those competitive rates, and for those of us who are in Auckland most of the time, they are far superior.
There shouldn't be any reason Vodafone can't offer something reasonably close, even if its 512MB/$20, I can't see what would be stopping them from doing that.

Hey John Im curious if you have custom plans? With the end of the 3GB promotion, 250MB is too little for me to take up a contract. Something like the Smart2 Plan with less minutes and more data would be amazing. Cheers P1n3apqle

Is it something for off-contract peeps? I think this is Voda's weakest market, in the prepay cheaper zone. Uni students don't have a whole lot of money to throw around, and for a lot of us, we aren't guaranteed to stay in New Zealand for the next 2 years, so a decent prepay plan would be awesome.

I think he is saying that Uni students quite often go on an OE after finishing uni, so locking themselves into a 24 month contract when they only plan to be in the country for, say, a year, is kinda silly.
