Will try suggestion to try and contact Vodafone. Have downloaded Minitool Partion Wizard Home Edition which allows me to partition and format drives larger than 32Gb. Have partioned part of drive NTFS that works fine read and write when plugged in computer, but read only from router, and part as Fat32 which reads and writes when plugged into router. this is doing what I need at present. Just a pain to nned tyo swap drive back and forth. One advantage is that other computers on network cannot change files on NTFS partions.

I still think it would be better if I could just use one file format, preferably NTFS. And that Vodafone would put something in their manual about file compatiblity and/or setting up permissions.

The amount of people stating that this router doesnt allow read/write if its NTFS is just wrong. IT does work, even with a 1TB HDD.

I can't stand it when people make a statement that is not true then see how far they can make said statement spread and then others jump on the bandwagon without even looking into it themselves or they don't even own the item in question.

Anyway, as I mentioned earlier I have a 1TB Western Digital connected that works with no issues. It's formatted in one large partition and it's NTFS.

My firmware details V100R001C12B030.

There is a thread on the Vodafone forums with details about upgrading the firmware.

Obviuosly I have a few screws loose. But know matter what I do I cannot write to NTFS partition when HD is connected to Vodafone Broadband Complete Router. As for the suggestion that I am starting false forums I find that mildly offensive. And it is of no use to me if people say mine works so yours should to.

I do agree it should work, becuase no where in the vodafone documentation does it say that it won't. But never the less mine doesn't work and you can tell me all your like that it should, but it still doesn't.

If I get kicked out of geekzone for defending myself, so be it.

Sorry. That's cool. Just getting  a bit frustrated. Where do I find the thread for updating firmware?
