Back now, but connection very unstable. Ping to Geekzone usually under 20ms, now varying from 40ms to 200ms.

I'm varying between 4Mbps and 14Mbps, averaging maybe 7Mbps. It goes up and down heaps. That's still pretty good given they're probably being hit pretty hard.

I can't believe. My connection is down again, and the modem won't come back online. Called TelstraClear to be told "our customer services is closed, will reopen 9am".

What a big fail.

Surely they must have realised that when they announced the free data weekend that everybody was going to put off any large D/L they had till then, it just boggles the mind that they'd offer something like this knowing their systems were going to get hammered and people were going to complain about massive drops in speed for downloading or ping times for gaming and even page load times

I'm down to 1-2Mbps. It's still very variable though, it'll probably vary between 1Mbps and 10Mbps for the entire weekend.

There's probably sod all they can do about it anyway.  Give it time and it'll probably come back.

I bet this is an interesting test for them.

Thought my web browsing was a bit slow... 190ms to WP from here, it's 40ms from wgtn.

I'll reserve judgement for now.

Going pretty good here.

Speeds are pretty much the same as always (though International speeds have dropped quite a bit)
