sbowness: Well, with Sky dragging their feet over the whole thing, Vodafone today came to the party and reversed the fee. That's good customer service in my books. It's nice to see VF working to shed their old image.

The Privacy Act is the single most misunderstood statute and is frequently a tool of abuse for people who want to muck customers around. In this case, VF has clearly come to the party and Sky has been shown up to be total idiots, if the OP has told us the whole story.
In short, congrats VF and booho to Sky.
