To be honest, my DSL with XNet has been pretty good lately, because the drops where I end up getting a different v4 address which is a bit annoying.
(But still static v6, woo)

I wouldn't mind a static v4 address, since i'm always online anyway :| But apart from SNAP (Who still do dynamic v6 prefixes) no other ISP does v6 over DSL. (That I know of)

Speed hasn't been a problem either, even during peak.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the new prices. A lot of us in the same situation as you (no other options) have been waiting a long time and still getting tucked by this company.

Obviously, for Xnet there are no reason to hurry with new plans. We can't leave them any way. So we need to help them to make decision. I'm not sure what is better. Query to Comcom? Letter to New Zealand Herald? Or maybe to ICT minister Amy Adams? XNet sales department did excellent work when they got exclusive rights for new subdivision. Now we have to do our part of work to push them further. If we will act together we will have a chance to see new plans some day (or chance to be free and be able to choose provider).
Everything above is not about Xnet technical team, you are great. It's about you sales (or marketing?) department.

You do realize they don't have exclusive rights. It's just other ISPs don't want to service the areas.....

Maybe, but when I call to other provider (Orcon for example), they don't say "we can't provide the service", they said "we CAN, but it's not allowed for us".

I've used 23 GB so far this month... My bill is $130 so far.

Telstra is $75 for 40GB.

Compare with data from another thread:

$120 from Slingshot = Phone + 250GB Net
$120 from Worldnet = Phone + 250GB Net
$130 from Vodafone = Phone + 120GB Net
$110 from Woosh = Phone + 100GB Net
$125 from Telecom = Phone + 80GB Net
$120 from Orcon = Phone + 70GB Net
$115 from Snap = Phone + 55GB Net
$120 from Xnet = Phone + 40GB Net

$120 from Fibre Xnet = Phone + 15GB Net!

I don't think they are lying, most of them just don't understand...

It is called marketing and seems to work, since they are getting you frustrated with your ISP while they are unable to actually provide you with the service, yet they give you the wrong impression that they have the infrastructure for fibre.

Fibre is nothing new, Telecom laid it down our road maybe 6 or 8 years ago but never switched it on (East Auckland).  ISPs except for one were too short sited to consider gearing up for fibre, just pushing copper and signing up customers.  It is only the last couple of years we've been getting constant Vodafone/Clear reps nagging us on Saturday mornings to sign up with them.

You can never have enough Volvos!

It's nothing more frustrating for me at the moment than Xnet price.

Xnet are probably making a higher margin on these pre UFB fibre trial estate connections than they do on ADSL BUT the majority of the money is going to Chorus (formerly part of Telecom) for use of the fibre/service.

These pre UFB fibre trial estates should surely be some of the first places to get UFB based pricing...

If I was you guys I would be hitting up InternetNZ, TUANZ, FairGo, ComCom and my local MP asking why there is unregulated monopoly pricing going on at a wholesale level with no other option (no copper) in these pre UFB fibre trial estates...

So you know the wholesale Chorus pricing to make that comment? I can assure you it's not the same as a UBA copper circuit.

As a consumer, all I care about is the retail price point.
