Also had off and on issues receiving emails in Outlook. Something about the connection to the server was timed out.

http://networkstatus.telstraclear.co.nz/home/cable_services.html

Nothing said about it there.

Has anyone lodged a fault with TelstraClear? I would, but then they'd start diagnosing the issue as if I'm the only one with the issue, rather than hear me say 'Look, a lot of people are experiencing x, y and z. Can you get someone to investigate?' and that be the conversation.

I tried. I was told 39 minutes wait to get someone on the line. I gave up.

I still can't believe TelstraClear doesn't an alarm somewhere to tell them when the proxy goes belly up.

Yeah, I had that issue earlier. Not sure if its still continuing for me (last load was alright), but I'm sure it may happen again, no doubt

EDIT: Yup, still an issue at times.

Posted on TelstraClear's FB wall, with a link to this thread. People are commenting saying they've got issues.

I just hope by now they realise there IS a region (even National) wide issue, rather than individual cases - and someone is RIGHT NOW looking into it and resolving the issue.

I just hit them up on twitter. The best and sometimes the only way to get TC to do anything is to make an issue public.

We are making it public. Lots on Twitter and Facebook as well as here. And I've contacted the communications manager to find out what's going on.

Ah, I was wondering if it was just me... having issues in Christchurch. Sites slow to load, Steam as well.

Some sites ok after reload but http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/  not bringing up any images.

Oh well, hope it's fixed by tomorrow.

Add another vote for issue being felt on cable in J'Ville. Feel like having a cry.

If internet access is really that important to someone then they should have two connections, maybe cable with a backup of ADSL or wireless. No service is completely reliable.

Bit of a day of it. I had problems with another service in Wellington earlier today.

I'm getting the same proxy issues here in Chc as others are seeing.

I'm wondering if all Telstra's ads have just caused them to get to many customers now for the network?

We've seen this crap before from providers, and they generally offer no up front honest response, so I wouldn't expect one today.

Proxy's really seem like a stupid idea to me. The amount of money wasted on the servers and the resources needed to keep them on track, it just seems like a pointless exercise.

Better to put the money into just buying more SCX capacity aren't they?
