Looks like Voda is enabling more towers for 4G each weekend, so you'll probably find it works next Monday.

Firebreaker: Yes this was very helpful thanks! So why are mobile data speeds increase but home broadband is given the back burner?

Where is home broadband being given the back burner?

In the last couple of years speeds have gone from 7.6Mbps ADSL1 to ~20Mbps ADSL2+ to 70Mbps VDSL2 if you're close enough to a cabinet to 100Mbps or 1Gbps if you're on fibre.

You mean fibre ufb can get 1gbps? Wow!
they can what do you think Google fiber is? But chorus isn't gonna install 1 GB/s because its really expensive and besides 100/mb/s ain't that bad either.

Yes.. if you want to pay for it an ISP can "create" a 1G up and down plan.

It will be a lot cheaper to get dark fibre and place a 10G SFP/XFP on each end

Technically GPON could deliver GigE but you would screw the domensioning, so its limited to 100Mb/s. But in the UFB there is the option to have your tail patched around the splitter to give you a ptp GigE circuit should you have the dosh for it.

10Gig GPON is already on trial in parts of the world that gives GigE pon tails, don't know if Chorus or other fibre providers here have any immediate intention of deploying it. I guess for the few customers who want GigE a ptp is preferred.

Anyway back on topic.

the stats look impressive :)

I know some friends in Asian countries with 4G phones it's there internet at home as well with unlimited data caps of course.  I am wondering from your experience is 4G faster than Fiber 30?  Generally speaking for all things, broadly speaking.  Was 3G about 5Mbit down and about 1Mbit up?

Again these stats look great, I have searched on google and the USA 4G haven't been great, averaging 5Mbit.  Europe was over 100Mbit.

LTE is not a fibre replacement.
