MikeHales:

Just to let you know - Nodes W11 (Avalon) and WCBD (Hutt) - all updated and no issues reported.

Can you advise which node(s) will be done next? (fingers crossed for W40)

Mike can only post once he is advised by the project team and he is only advised the day before the planned work

Will certainly post when I know, might be a bit more than a day in advance but subject to change.

More out of curiousity than anything, what does a "node upgrade" involve in broad (and non commercially sensitive) terms? Changing hardware? More cables? Turning it off and on again?

Island Bay, cable 100/10 Mbps, node WKH

averaged hourly TrueNet downstream stats:

before the upgrade:

a week after the upgrade:

I just hope that this improvement lasts until DOCSIS 3.1 solves all our problems.  smile

EDIT:  Note that these stats are for my own connection only - there are several other "child nodes" on WKH, and I don't know how well they are performing.

Do they turn it off after 4pm or is that just how the graph is so the other ISPs arent all squished into a single line at the top?

No wonder they are heavily advertising now. But, according to them, they are the best!

Getting "waiting for", "connection timed out" and "empty response" on some websites (Netflix, speedtest.net, wiki.openelec.tv responds with HTTP 408).

Other websites (Geekzone) take an extremely long time to finish "loading" (10 minutes) - seems to be held up by 56fh8x.xyz, d8myem934l1zi.cloudfront.net and bam.nr-data.net

EDIT: and we seem to be back to normal.

I've been having the same issue most of tonight as well. Extremely painful since I had to work remotely tonight as well.

YouTube is practically unusable this afternoon. Videos constantly sit there without playing for minutes on end.

if it makes you feel any better I can sit at work on a 2mbps satellite connection with out land in sight and not have a video buffer or sit there doing nothing. It not the best quality but still.

VF need to sort their connections out
