Screeb:Do people on other NZ ISPs who do have Google caches get such bad performance on unpopular (not cached) videos that they can't even stream at 320p half the time? I don't think so. A cache isn't going to help that. He also goes on about how it's a time of day thing - this is also not true. It WAS a time of day thing back when I first reported the problem, but since a few months later it's unwatchably slow 24/7.

It is definitely a time of day thing. Early afternoon or mid morning during the week works great up to 420p and quite often to 720p.

teamyoyo: Ladies and gentlemen, I think I have a new record! 45 minutes to load a 4 minute video. In the time I was waiting for my video to finish loading I had a shower, did my teeth, made breakfast and lunch, caught up on my emails, wrapped a present and talked to my friend for 5 minutes. And after the video finished loading I preceded to download OpenOffice in less time than it took to load the video.
I'm sorry TelstraClear but that google cache better be up and running soon or when my contract ends in the next 4 weeks I'm jumping ship. It's just not worth the annoyance.
Jeb: Performance has been steadily degrading over the last few days. Currently getting 5-75kbps.
