1eStar: Oh and by the way, corrugated iron cladding is also really poor for allowing signal inside a house. I've stayed in houses where the only way to satisfactorily use a cellphone was to stand the phone on the window sill and use a Bluetooth headset.

Virgil: Not sure what plan you are on, but one option would be to add your home number as a NZBestmate, and then divert all calls to home while you are at home.
I had to do this for a while when I was in exactly the same situation as yourself. It wasn't too much hassle, it very quickly became a habit to automatically get in the car, fasten seatbelt and undivert phone.
Might be worth thinking about, anyway.

Diverted calls are not included in Bestmate / NZbestmate the diverts calls will use included minutes first
