Hi. Yes had a look. They are in the thing. The thing is i dont know if its worth it. They use about 2gb data now. If they want to go away for any time they dont pay..

Im happy with the system they have now, they are happy. All I was thinking was if they could have good cell coverage and it would not cost a arm and leg then i would be happy to kust one day rock in and set it up. The other thing is that i have a sure signal as you know and they are life changing! I did not know what life was like with out one.

At the out set of this all i wanted to know was could i run data over a vodem from a sure signal and havw it 0 rated. And im happy with the out come. I would like to know why vodafone is not keen to 0 rate the data... Data is data....

But im happy with the out come.. :) Thanks all!

Data is not always "just" data.
Think about where the data is orginating from that feeds your Sure Signal and then think about a Vodem stick. Two completely different technologies with their own advantages and disadvantages,

Vodafone cannot just zero rate your Vodem as that would also be a farcical business decision.

Unfortnately, the reality is Sure Signal/RBI may be the best option moving forward

The issue is not about zero rating the Vodem data, the issue is SureSignal cannot be used over a mobile data connection.

are the police going to throw you in jail for boosting your cell coverage in the middle of nowhere where it's likely only to make peoples lives easier?

Any active RF device can potentially cause RF interference, and RF interference impacts on every person around that device.
Telco's spend a lot of time and effort minimizing RF interference, which could impact on uplink/downlink performance significantly. And - perhaps more importantly it can be very very expensive to locate an interferring device. That process requires expensive test equipment as well as a significant amount of time.
When Telco's put in active solutions they are aware of the design limitations of the equipment, and can monitor that gear when it's switched on.
So when someone installs something without a license, you can understand why Telco's can get hot under the collar.
