I can use some of my 120 for that, I was talking about adding a bulk lot if I have a need for them.

I'm also young and my memory is in a good working condition so that isn't an issue for me.

My usage is pretty much the same every month so a You choose plan gives me better value for my money than a Flexi plan would.

Obviously not everyone is the same and Telecom have identified a need in the markt, but for me it appears Vodafone realy does know what this customer wants.

Whilst I can empathise with the frustration of posters in this topic, I myself have a pretty useable plan set up with VF. I use my phone at any time, and never stop to consider whether its peak or off-peak calling. I just make the call. I have a You Choose 20 plan, but with a 3mb data add-on, which allows me to access the internet whenever I want/need. The extra costs I rack up in a month are around $5 for txts, and perhaps a little data-overun. This plan was suggested to me by a local VF store, and was set up seamlessly. This is an example of VF identifying a customer's needs, and meeting them, so they CAN do it!

However.....I absolutely agree that our mobile phone charges in this country are ridiculously high, but I'm pragmatic enough to not expect much improvement in the short to medium term.

So I'll be watching for the "new" plans with interest, to see if they offer better value..............!

While we can all chip in with approvals of xyz plan, it is important to remember that with the likes of You Choose, it doesn't suit everyone (for others it suits them fine). The initial poster is an example of this and so this discussion is focused on alternatives.

It is disappointing that Vodafone offered these types of plans which would have suited the customer better, however have since withdrawn the plans which removes the ability to pick a plan which fits you better. One would have expected that if they were all about choice/'you choose' that they would offer such a plan that was offered previously. Additionally now the only On Account plan without a minimum 12 month contract is motormouth, which is a fairly 'dangerous' plan with number portability, and does not cover calling to landlines.

It is further disappointing from a vodafone customer experience that they are so willing to refer customers to Telecom because Telecom offers the traditional plans (off/on peak) in addition to their flexi plans.

I suspect they are very afraid their services disapoint customer who in turn move to Telecom. Hence these contracts. I remember a few years back the big news from vodafone were "No more contracts!"... But then the ship moved...
