hmmm its starting to look less likely I will be staying with Vodafone when it comes to renew next month. Honestly just nothing on offer worth keeping me and my money here tbh.

What sort of promotions would you like to see for PC gamers? Steam credit?

That'd be a good puller for PC, Mac, AND Linux users I'm guessing.

Not sure on Steam Credits, but something that is of comparable value to the Console promotions and usable by the majority of PC gamers without the need to make other purchases to use it.

As with what the post above about signing up to another 12 month contract for no return for said commitment is abit beyond it too. If I'm being enticed into a new 12month contract I expect something in return for the commitment to that 12month term otherwise I'm just being ripped off, a discount, more data for same price, etc etc something that is worthwhile to me signing that commitment.

So my mum jumped the gun when I was out playing golf as she saw the email from vodafone and she redeemed the PS+ voucher, so now I assume that we're now signed up for two years instead of just the 12 months we signed up for last week.

Bit of a double standard in terms of eligibility for new and existing customers. the promotion was announced on the 28th of November see the press release here but they allowed new customers who had signed up since the 21st to claim a voucher.

Lies. Vodafone look after their current Customers VERY GOOD. I've been with Vodafone for around 5 years.

For $89 they offered me:
- 150GB Broadband
-$10 off the normal monthly cost of $99
- PS Plus Membership for a year.
- Free Bestmates (5 calls to Mobiles/Landlines)
- Free MYSKY HDi +.
- Free new Modem the touch button station one.
- Free relocation costs; I was able to move my internet/sky to my new house and didn't have to pay for ANY installations for my new services. The SKY Technician came to install everything for FREE.

Vodafone are damn good. No other ISP offers this.

I think you do get something small, don't you get a local Steam server for faster downloads - was Telstra, not sure about Vodafone though.

Long gone, Vodafone didn't keep it when they took over TCL

Also Valve changed how they deliver content downloads making the dedicated steam content servers ISP used to host redundant.

Would be good to see Vodafone grant an exemption for customers who have upgraded between the 21 November and now since I assume the 12 month term from "today" would include Gamers Choice. (Although perhaps I'm wrong with that)

I'm looking into it, but generally you sign up for what you sign up for - promotions come & go all the time, this is just one with a different kind of tangible value than one month free, et cetera.

Yup totally agree with that - except for the fact that I don't think I got anything "free" for being made to sign up to a 12 month term when I upgraded to the new UFB 50 Plan which I guess is where the question arises.

I agree that if you get something of tangible value then you should be signed up to a term but if you are just getting the service as is then I don't think a term should be applied. (Of course I'm willing to be proved wrong and told that I did in fact get something extra as part of signing up to the UFB 50 plan :) )

Did you have to pay the install fee for UFB? or is that what you got for free under the 12 month contract?

Time it with Steams summer sale

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.

Not sure if this was discussed, but on a different note, I am getting pretty annoyed with Vodafone (plus others) giving all the data deals to pre-pay and neglecting plans.  I'm not concerned with minutes, I just want to see a provider give competitive options for data on a plan.

I'm on a $29 plan.  500mb data, 150m & texts.

If I don't get an open plan - the $39 on account plan still only gives you 500mb.  The $39 open would give me 1gb.

If I went to prepay, i'd get 500mb for $19, PLUS a bonus of 250mb for every $20 I top up.  Or top up $30 per month for a 500mb bonus - which still leaves $10 of extra credit per month.

I'm a customer too Vodafone.  Let me 'top up' my account and get a top up bonus too, I bet I spend more on my phone than many of the pre-pay customers!
