Thanks Chevrolux, I'll check out the WxC VFX option.

While talking to WcX about their voip service, I got a good tip from them.
they suggested that as part of the change over to VF Naked VDSL I should ask to have my existing landline nmber "customer linked" to make sure it does not get disconneted before WcX can port the number over.

chevrolux: Why not just look at WxC VFX.

It is fully auto-provisioned on to an ATA (I would use Cisco SPA112) so you don't need to worry about set up. It is, more or less, plug and play. Also rock solid. Wifey won't know the difference. Plus you get all the extra smart features. All for only $11.50/month.

Apparently VF does not allow Sip on their Naked VDSL plan, even though the Huawei 659 supports sip, and I need VF for my Suresignal to boost mobile reception.

Im taking a punt here but I think I can say with almost 99% certainty that VF will not block SIP. They just simply wont support it. This is a non-issue when going to VFX as they will support the ATA. You can keep your connection with VF so your Suresignal will be fine.

Yip they do nothing to block SIP, they simply don't support it. It's supported only on the plans and devices they sell which use their VoIP offering.

I have 2talk on my current adsl setup. Just wanted to confirm that SIP isn't blocked on vdsl? Happy to purchase an ATA device as we make a lot of overseas calls and 2talk is a no brainer for us

Anyone have 2talk running with visa vdsl and can confirm it works? Don't want to upgrade only to lose my VoIP calling.

Thanks

While waiting for my Vodafone VDSL install, I installed VFX Primary Line today.
It was my first use of Voip.
Configuration:
a) TelstraClear ADSL
b) I have the following connected to my Lynksys DG434 v4 router
b.1) Windows desktop
b.2) Airport Extreme Wifi.
b.3) Vodafone Suresingnal boosting my mobile reception from half a bar to 5 bars
b.4) SPA122 ATA for the WxC VFX service
b.5) my existing cordless phone station connected to the SPA122 ATA
Installation
It took 30 minutes with one call to WxC support to resolve a cabling error of mine
Conclusion
Install easier than expected and WcX support was excellent without annoying IVR waits or processes

I hope the change over to the VDSL modem provided by VF will be this easy.
