Sideface: There is no such thing as a free lunch - or free data.
You could argue that the Entertain 250GB plan was overpriced, compared with the "heavy user" plans of other ISPs.

True, taking in consideration just recently Vodafone increased the 150GB plan prices by 44.8% so really, they know where the money is coming from. I am surprised no one raised anything when the price increase came out, which was strange seeing all other ISPs actually brought prices down or increased allowance.

There's nothing free as insane implies.

I think it's more of a case that their major compeditors are offering 500GB plans and they are looking at retaining those customers who are using near the 250GB limit to stop them moving, people just like companies are loyal to the almighty $$, they will quite happily purchase somewhere else if the same product is cheaper, or for the same price they get way more.

Also got to remember that in the previous round of upgrades VF moved from the double your data for $xx to $/GB over the cap and I'm guessing a few people got caught by that and got stung by some larger than expected bill. I for one have come close in the past

LOL I don't recall their staff discount ever being described as "delightful" when I was there.

From what I know, it isn't at all. I might even bet TimA was being sarcastic there.

If it's really $20 then it's even worse than I remember.

TimA:
crazed: 150GB plans to 300GB? maybe?

Maybe, I would assume so..

I think they will keep the staging of:
30-80-150-500
or
80-150-250-500

Bet you know what I'm going to say here! As Vodafone staff we can't speculate about future plans before they're publicly announced etc.

When I started here in May 2010 our plans Easy, Ideal and Ultimate included 5/10/20GB with the option to double your data all the way up to 40GB. :)

I'm on the $96 150gb/130mb plan and have been looking at these new plans as I could do with some more data. It's been really hard to justify moving off this current plan though, as no matter what spin anyone tries to put on it, they just look worse.
Since you're doubling the 250gb plan it does seem a little more attractive but I'm still not sure.

I do have a question though, I'm not sure if I am reading it wrong or not. But are the naked cable and the cable with phone plans the same price, or am I missing something? Seems a bit silly for anyone to buy naked if they can just get a homeline for free, whether they'd even use it or not.

They are the same price, with phone you can get a $10 discount and naked a $30 discount. (If you have the post-paid mobile)

freitasm: A bit of a nasty move, the 250GB plan up to 500GB but people on the 150GB get nothing.

Not happy.

Hey Mauricio,

Do take your point, but there is only a ten dollar price difference between those plans. If you're routinely using over the 150GB, an additional 350GB for a tenner seems a pretty decent deal to me. :)

Never would have thought when I started at TCL in 2007 that we'd see the biggest cable plan ever - 500GB - for as low as $89 for 50Mbps/$119 for 130Mbps (Assuming an on-account mobile discount, which, when the plans start at $29 & the discount is $30, seems straightforward to me).

You're just going to set him off again, he already pointed out the price increase for the 150gb plan. You don't increase the price of a Toyota Corolla by 40k and then say you can get a Lexus for only $10 more.

So when can we now expect 1TB plans? :)
