freitasm: I've received a comment from Vodafone:
Vodafone takes data security and the privacy of our customers’ information extremely seriously.
We’ve investigated overnight and identified a small number of fixed broadband accounts that were allocated the same initial activation password when their accounts were set up last month, which had the potential to be accessed.
We have immediately remedied this issue by resetting all of the initial set-up passwords on these accounts.
We apologise for any concern this has caused our customers, and reassure them that it is not possible to access credit card details or personal financial information – contrary to what was reported.
Vodafone mobile customers are not affected.
We will continue to investigate our processes around account set-up to ensure our customers’ account security and privacy is maintained to the highest levels.

I think his comment was a joke too.
freitasm: This story is not really well written. Something fishy here.
