Ring Telecom say "Customerlink my number and provide me with a temporary number please"
Say "goodbye telecom"

That's what I did.  I rang Telecom and asked for a number change and custom link my current number as I'm going to Naked DSL and porting number over to Xnet Fusion, but the Telecom customer service person wouldn't budge - she claimed that's the first time she heard someone ring up and do it.  She even said to tell my new service provider (Xnet) that if they want my business they have to to the porting and NDSL setup completely, and I don't have to call Telecom at all whatsover.  Hence I'm kind of confused as to what I should do...

So, when I ring 123, and upon their interactive voice response prompt, do I just say "customlink my number and provide me with a temporary phone number please?"..

Any insights would be appreciated!.

Thanks!

I just rang TCNZ few minutes ago for link my numbers to a temp number. Thanks  starspangle
for the short code 0800 000 000 and 0

TCNZ has a dedicated team dealing with this now!!

In my case there will be a charge of $22.50 per line per month to do this (I have dual line so 2x$22.50) This is my one Month line rental. My line will pretty much link to a temp number from tonight and stay that way until I call TCNZ and cancel this.

With TCNZ for 9 yeas... technology is available to move forward, if they are not changing I'm changing

Next FUSION ......

It sounds as though you got the useless old lady :S i've had her 4 times, she got my name wrong twice and told me the other times she couldn't do something,

ring 123 and ask for Smart Services
or ring 0800000000 and press 5, 5x in a row :) it'll take you to the front the queue :)

She's right about the Porting and naked DSL setup, but she's wrong about the customerlink and temp number. If you get here again, hang up and ring back and hope you get one of the guys who works there instead, they are much more helpful and actually know what you will are talking about :)
