Hmmm.

Well, it's 8.28pm - despite what the Geekzone clock says - it's 23hours behind...

I've struck my first problems with Xnet internation bandwidth problems.  My partner is trying to download a 166mb file from iTunes.  It's taken 1 hour so far and is saying there is another 47 minutes to go.  This is on Fusion which is advertised as FS/FS.

So, to play devils advocate, I'm guessing that that FS (in either direction) is a variable figure based on the amount of available (international) bandwidth at any given point in time.  At the end of the day, NZ has small international links and the more the more people the are using it (and the intensity at which they use it) will decrease the total amount available to everyone?

I would have posted a heart-warming graphic from speedtest to show how slow things are for me at the moment but the connection is so slow speedtest won't load...I kid you not!

Local speeds seem just as good as ever.

You can set your time zone settings from your geekzone profile.

Yawn totally subjective thread, and quite uninteresting on an uninteresting Sunday

2 download going 7KB/s from RIM(blackberry desktop) and 38KB/s from Novell(groupwise eval)

Typical speeds from RIM, but Novell seems slower than usual

Off to watch Bionic Woman- Wohooo

Duh.  So I can.  My mistake, your fault.

Anyway, here's as far as I can get on speedtest tonight - it's never been a problem before...

Broadband Speed Test: How fast can you go?

The speed testing engine downloads files from various sources around the Internet in order to get an assessment of your connection capabilities.

Currently processing test: 107795 of 163351

A turn of phrase your background obviously hasn't exposed you to before.  It's a tongue-in-cheek expression.

I too have noticed this slowdown over the past few days.  I am currently downloading a video from youtube at only 6.4kB/s.  I am about half way through with half an hour remaining.  The time now is 9:43pm on Sunday night.  I am on Fusion FS/FS.

I am surprised that no Xnet people have contributed anything to this thread, given how it is growing.  They are usually very onto any and all topics in this forum.

Can't even sustain a 5-15 kb/sec gaming connection to the US atm without constant disconnection.

Pretty poor.

Speedtest
So slow its not even funny.

xNet was a great step up from Xtra's GoLarge plan but now its starting to become even slower.

Where is xNet's Response ? They haven't even changed their network status.

This is not brilliant, but I would still regard it as acceptable International speed for a FS/128k connection:

For me the situation isn't really too bad.  Why is there such variability between Xnet customers?

If this was solely an International issue as others are claiming, we should all be getting much the same speeds Undecided

@ Home Parnell, Auckland

National   Internation

I sync around 5.5 Megabits

In Ponsonby off a unbundled exchange I sync around 10 Megabits but I get anywhere from 2 Megabits to 200kbps to Auckland, I have given up trying to get a speedtest to post here, because it keeps freezing.

There is something really wrong.

There is something very very wrong with those speedtests...

I would recommend logging cases or emailing them about it.
