Yes scott, I've been told that the removal of a 3G only option was a a silly move. The decision was made because of our intermittent 3G coverage. I suspect they will reintroduce this option once 900mhz goes live and more compatible handsets emerge.

Thanks for the update though "Joe", my 6121 has been relegated to USB modem with a data only SIM these days so that functionality could come in handy.

Wow "scott", I had no idea Vodafone activated 900mhz across the entire country last night. I thought we were still slowly rolling out the network. I guess I'm way behind the times. You also missed the "and more compatible handsets emerge". Did we also simultaneously deliver 2.244 million 6121's to our customers last night because I might know a couple irate 3G users who didn't get them!

News to me too, that's a substantial achievement! Put me down as having missed out on a new 6121 classic too :-(

T-Mobile, which has exclusive iPhone rights in some European countries, announced today that the software is available for users to download. It isn’t known if the upgrade will fix all the connection problems.

The U.S. iPhone provider AT&T confirmed that Apple has provided a software update but hasn’t given any details about the nature of the update.
