Cool, thanks BlackJak... was hoping someone would come to that conclusion.  Here's hoping that Xnet investigate and resolve.

Personally I don't think opendns is a good idea.  OK for troubleshooting tho.

In other, slightly more interesting and useful news, I've just returned from a couple of weeks somewhere sunny and warm. So far, things in the XNet DNS world seem normal (in the normal = working sense). Fingers crossed.

^ the above comment was not directed at you, JDNZ. Xnet's problem could be missing return routes, or it could be that most frustrating of issues that crops up down here... the 'All-addresses-from-APNIC-are-evil' position that some (predominantly american) networks seem to take... thus painting us with the same brush as the shadier parts of the interwebs. Fought that one a few times myself, with varying degrees of success depending on the agencies involved.

LOL, I don't think we're ever going to get away from that problem, some NZ IP address ranges are awfully close to the "shadier" ones :P
