maverick: Cheers Adam,
Just checked it out on multiple browsers and PC's couldn't reproduce it ... hmmm

coffeebaron: This is no problem to re-wire. I do this all the time for my Fusion customers, so they can plug in their phones anywhere as before. In fact, if you want to do this properly; you will be isolating a dedicated feed to a single jack-point only for the naked DSL component anyway; so the extra bit of wiring for VoIP re-injection at the same time is minimal.

Definitely seems like an AU issue. Just tried some more devices/connections:

For you maybe. Most people aren't capable of re-wiring their home phone circuit - and I suspect don't want to have to pay someone for the privilege.
Also don't the ATA's have a lower REN than the PSTN? In which case, if you have several older devices (Without their own power), you may run into issues. (Not a big issue these days, but an issue none the less)

ajobbins: Seems to be hanging on wordpress.xnet.co.nz (58.28.5.11).
I can resolve and ping it OK, but getting no response on port 80
chevrolux: IMO people shouldn't be expecting to move to VoIP for free. The customer should always get VoIP installed by a pro who can wire it back in to the jacks The average customer doesn't want there phone to be where the ATA and router is all the time.
Maverick always talks about a PSTN replacement. Putting an ATA in one spot of the house is not a replacement for the PSTN as the customer is stuck with putting the phone in the corner with the ATA. Wiring it back in to the jacks will allow the customer to use any number of phones negating the need of 'One number'. The REN might be a tad lower than the NEAX's but is an extremely trivial matter as phones now generally dont have REN higher than 0.5.

coffeebaron:maverick: Not something we have a lot of call for, we do have this in our product suite but just not presently offered.
Maybe time to revisit this?
