Yes but all 6 phones are in use all at once are they for phone calls?

So the limit's are for active phones? What are the specific's around it? Is this counted by active calls/data or just phone's "registered" to it. For the few user's who may need this in hellish apartment blocks can you restrict who attaches to the device?

You'd think it might allow some kind of filtering....

It's interesting to see that this seems have been mentioned by numerous people in the last few weeks as something they want to see. When the Sure Signal launched in the UK it was IMEI locked to a small number of devices and was the single biggest negative issue that people had with the device.

I guess there is no pleasing people!

Oh open by default is the way to go :) But having the option is better than not having it. I used to have an apartment in Wellington that got no signal, I wouldn't want the 5+ apartments around me jumping on it!

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

Regardless of what JohnR said, I was told you could have multiple Sure Signal devices in close proximity (for example you have one, your neighbours left and right have one each, and yes handover is implemented.

Also I'd like to point out that, although the product is being officially launched today, it was available from the web store since end of January. You can read a Vodafone Sure Signal review here on Geekzone's PaulSpain blog, posted back 25th January.

Regardless of what JohnR said, I was told you could have multiple Sure Signal devices in close proximity (for example you have one, your neighbours left and right have one each, and yes handover is implemented.

I don't remember seeing anything about this.

Got to say that today's Sure Signal event was a pleasure. Also, in reference to earlier comments, choppers were absolutely necessary!

I take it the sure signal is only available to Vodafone dealers?? I sold 4 of them for Vodafone dealers last week to clients I was discussing coverage issues with, sure signal sure beats our XLINK voice coverage solution when the customer has DSL, I am too honest to not tell them that the sure signal is available. Could have charged a consult fee bit being able to l sell them would be better :)

I am liking this talk of dual Carrier modems.... Now that is exciting!!!

You may have launched the Sure Signal just in time to stop me signing up with telecom ADSL for a year :-) Since adsl only came available in our area in the last week or so.

I really want to know if I can run more then 1 sure signal on an Internet connection, we have a large lifestyle block with multiple buildings but 1 Internet connection. So I would like to run more then 1 unit - they will be located more then 40m apart

From what Johnr has said there is only 1 Sure signal per ADSL connection, but I note from the release video that there is a 3rd (longer range) unit in the pipe somewhere more suited to rural applications.
