codyc1515:Yes, the subsidies were reduced (thats what I meant to say). Who makes the subsidies? Vodafone. Was the price of the iPhone in NZ changed by Apple? No (not publicly). In this case I would make the inference that it is Vodafone that has decreased the subsidy and in turn increased the cost of getting an iPhone on-contract.

iPhone subsudies were in some cases significantly higher than any other handset.

Do you want a cheaper up front cost and monthy plan costs that are higher than other VF users may pay (so the subsidy cost can be recovered), or a subsidy and plan price that is the same as other VF users may pay?

I think that ideally the plans and subsidies should be equal, regardless of phones cost/brand. example: $45 plan = $100 subsidy not $45 plan for iPhone = $400 subsidy. It should be $100 or $400 for all phones.
