freitasm: I can't believe. My connection is down again, and the modem won't come back online. Called TelstraClear to be told "our customer services is closed, will reopen 9am".

There's probably sod all they can do about it anyway.  Give it time and it'll probably come back.

I bet this is an interesting test for them.

They can get the techs to reset the table on the node.

freitasm: I pay, $209 a month, for this.

Ok, first I corrected your comment for you ;)

You make an interesting point.

This now what I paid for and not what I asked for.

I think I would be within rights to ring up and ask for a credit because I'm not getting what I paid for.  The terms of service have been changed on me without consultation and I was not given the opportunity to opt out.

I'd suggest a download manager to use multiple streams.

Free Download Manager - for traditional http direct downloads

Jdownloader - with use for premium accounts on download sites like (filesonic, rapidshare, megaupload)

Do think I'm being tolerated rather than network slowdowns, despite what was promised.

My performance has been terrible. I'm getting 1500ms ping in WoW right now, this is retarded, its completely unplayable, they have not been able to maintain network integrity. I hope they don't plan on doing this again, I can forsee people leaving..

I think trying it and seeing how goes is a great idea. Once the novelty is off it will be less hammered. Here in Chch playing wow and ping is normal and downloading just fine.

Well I wouldn't play games, just download while It's on. As long as speed is reasonable, It's well worth it.

Speed has dropped from 2MBps to 550KBps to 150-200KBps. =S

adsl modem is synced at 18mbps, so i'm almost utilizing my full bandwidth.
