Being on-call for work means having to VPN in and all of this week I have had to resort to my mobile data to log into work which is an absolute pain at stupid o'clock in the morning when something breaks :(

freitasm: Ironically, I'm trying to work (yes, Facebook is work since I manage a couple of Facebook company pages) and trying to load a Vodafone NZ page but can't even login:

It's always sad getting home and have the connection be worse than when I'm on my phone, a necessary evil to save on data.

Okay I'm super sick of this now, like I swear we should be getting something to make up for how goddamn awful this is and the fact that its been this awful over a super extended time.

You ain't kidding mate, it's a shambles. I'm waiting to see if this fix next week creates new and more interesting problems upstream, as all these 1.5Mb/s customers return to 100Mb/s+ performance.
I'm also intrigued to know what technical solution can happen so quickly to rectify all these problems in one fell swoop next week.

It's called working 24/7 replacing old hardware with new

It is work in progress until the end of next month. Hardware is being swapped out around the nodes. I don't know about capacity.

First part of the work was replacing HFC core and upgrading of links to Core next stage which is now is Nodes

To get the work done quicker work has been approved for short outages during business hours which does not happen often

Fix the issue because its annoying us, just not when we're using the internet (24/7). You can't please some people :)

Vodafone have been working on this for some weeks now, as you well know. New hardware is being put in place and I'm assuming the full benefit will be realised when everything is switched on and running together.

Have either of you logged a fault and asked for a discount based on the issues you're experiencing?

Ouch, it's really bad tonight. :(

I'm seeing upwards of 500 ms latency in games. I'm tempted to just start tethering from my phone's 3G connection for latency-sensitive stuff. :P
