Would someone like to check I've done this right?

Given we know what the average National/Int balance is, can we assume Telstra had a 10Ge hand port to Reach in LA?

Can we then assume they were running it at less than 10Ge and just bumped it up to what ever until they just ran out of port capacity?

Hi Guys, can you take a few moments to take our survey? "Free Broadband Weekend feedback survey". Your feedback is really important to us. Thanks, Tim.

I completed the very short survey but would have appreciated the opportunity to say why I thought it was so bad for us.

My family was unable to:
- watch online video smoothly
- watch any video on Flicks.co.nz
- download files in a reasonable time frame as download speeds were as slow as 1.3kBps.
- play Xbox online multiplayer games

Ya I did it too, but it was a bunk survey, looked to me just like they're attempting to collect evidence to justify the success of the project by biasing the questions they ask.

End of the day it's all a bit moot.  They will do as they choose, and I fully support that right.  Those of us who are upset about it actually have to check our attitude at the door and remember this is an open free market.

If you don't like it then move providers.  If you can't find a provider that you like then set up your own.

Having said that, I'm a person who likes a bit of loyalty, so I like to work with my providers to at least try and get the value from them that I want as a consumer.  Though I agree that's not always possible when the company is not heading in the direction that I am.  Sometimes we just have to agree to go our own ways. :)

The survey questions aren't good enough.
I was asked for what do I do with my connection during the free weekend and do I do more than normal.
Actually, I downloaded a lot more video content than normal because my normal gaming actives can't be carried out. The poor latency/speed just can't cope when I want to play oversea servers.
So, I was doing less than what I usually do (gaming) and instead I downloaded a lot more than normal. (I just leave the PC to download and do something else in life).

And no, I do not appreciate the free weekend, if this continues I will have to move on. I am willing to pay for the service I desire. Cheaper and degraded service is just a bad way of marketing.
